Lawrence State-Prison Release Paths
No active state correctional institution was found inside Lawrence County. People sentenced in the 53rd Judicial District can still be committed from Lawrence County Corrections Center to a PADOC prison elsewhere in Pennsylvania. The county jail's discharge or transfer entry should identify state commitment or the receiving authority. At that moment, the person has left local custody but remains confined under state jurisdiction.
A state-prison release can lead to community parole under PADOC supervision, another custody agency, or full sentence discharge. Physical parole release occurs before the maximum after the minimum and a favorable Board process. It is not the end of supervision. A transfer between prisons is also not release, even when the prior institution disappears from a search result.
The Lawrence County discharge entry proves the handoff from the county. PADOC records prove the state custody and later release. The sentencing docket and Pennsylvania Parole Board action supply the legal basis.
Search Lawrence State Commitments
The Pennsylvania Department of Corrections locator has two distinct search paths. Use Inmate for a person currently confined under PADOC jurisdiction. Use Department Supervised Individual after physical release on state parole. A county-jail-only person will not belong in either state path unless PADOC later assumed jurisdiction.
- Confirm state commitment. Read the Lawrence County criminal docket and county discharge entry for a PADOC commitment or transfer.
- Search the Inmate tab. Enter a last name or inmate number, then add first name, committing county, birth date, or another available field to distinguish matches.
- Open the matching detail. Review the inmate number, committing county, current location, and other agency fields rather than relying on a photograph alone.
- Switch after parole release. Search Department Supervised Individual by name or inmate/parole number and review the district or permanent location and displayed Release Date.
- Request the durable record. If the person is fully discharged or no current result appears, obtain the PADOC release or discharge record, Board action, and sentencing docket.
The locator service says its data update daily, so it is a current-scope tool rather than a door-time log. A missing name is inconclusive. Search former names and known identifiers before moving to records requests.

Note: PADOC's supervised-person Release Date is a past prison release into supervision, not a projected date or final discharge date.
Lawrence PADOC Search Fields
The state interface accepts several fields that can separate one Lawrence County commitment from another. Broad searches help with spelling variants, while an inmate or parole number is more precise. Some personal data may come from sources outside DOC and may not be independently verified, so agency identifiers and locations deserve the most weight.

An asterisk can identify Wanted: Parole Absconder. An ordinary supervised-person result does not mean the person is wanted. It shows current PADOC supervision within the locator's scope.
Lawrence State Release Records
A state release record should identify the person, state number, custody agency, physical release date, release type, and supervision route when those fields exist. The public locator can corroborate current state custody or parole supervision, but it does not promise a permanent history after the maximum expires or supervision ends.
For a durable result, use the Pennsylvania UJS case portal to find the Lawrence sentencing docket. Obtain the signed order from the Lawrence County Clerk when the docket summary is not enough. Ask PADOC for the sentence calculation and release or discharge information. If parole terms or the decision matter, obtain the individual Board Action.
The Pennsylvania Parole Board has no public person-by-person decision database. Its Right-to-Know route is the records fallback after the final decision has been delivered, subject to exemptions. A clemency calendar or public meeting notice is not an inmate parole result.

Pennsylvania State Release Dates
Pennsylvania state sentences generally have a minimum and maximum. PADOC calculates them. The minimum is the first ordinary parole-eligibility point, not a promised release. A Board grant, approved release plan, conditions, and completed processing still stand between eligibility and physical departure. The maximum is the outer sentence date subject to lawful calculation and later changes.
The public locator does not display a projected, tentative, minimum, or maximum date. Its supervised-person Release Date belongs to someone already released into supervision. New sentences, unresolved cases, detainers, parole refusal, or violation and recommitment can change the expected date. A Board review month after recommitment is not a release date.
Lawrence Transfer Versus Release
A person can disappear from LCCC because PADOC transported that person to an SCI. The county record should be read as a transfer or state commitment, and the Inmate tab should then show state jurisdiction after data processing. The person remains confined. Family or record searchers should not call the event a Lawrence County release home.
Movement from one SCI to another is also continued state custody. PA SAVIN may report a move, transfer, or release event, but each event label has its own meaning. A provider-transmitted transfer notice does not establish community release. Confirm the new institution in the DOC detail or with PADOC.
After state parole, Department Supervised Individual can show a district or permanent location and a past Release Date. Full discharge may later remove the person from the current-scope locator. At that stage, a no-result is consistent with discharge but does not prove its date. Use the historical agency and court records.
Note: Always name the custody layer because county absence, state transfer, parole release, and full discharge describe four different events.
PADOC Release Contacts
There is no active SCI or PADOC prison contact inside Lawrence County. The correct route depends on the record. The live locator identifies the current institution for an inmate or the district or permanent location for a supervised individual. Use the linked agency directory for the actual institution or field office rather than inventing a local prison address.

The PADOC parole-office directory routes a state release to the assigned field office. Lawrence County Adult Probation is a separate county court office and must not replace PADOC for a state parole case.
Confirm a Lawrence State Release
Use three records when certainty matters. The Lawrence sentencing docket and signed order show the legal sentence. PADOC's custody or discharge record shows its jurisdiction and physical release. The Board Action states the parole decision and conditions. Each answers a different part of the release question.
The main Lawrence County released-inmate record path helps when the original custodian is unclear. If LCCC says the person was sent to PADOC, move to the state Inmate search. If PADOC shows a supervised individual, read the date as past physical release to parole and use the assigned state field office. If both current tabs are empty after a known old state sentence, request historical records.
For a record request, provide the full name, state inmate or parole number, Lawrence committing county, and the sentence or release period at issue. Ask for an existing calculation, Board Action, release entry, or discharge record instead of asking staff to work out a date from a narrative. A precise request gives PADOC or the Board a clear record to locate and keeps the response tied to the correct person and state case.
Do not use the county's absent roster as proof of state release. Do not use a minimum date as the door date. A clear confirmation states which agency released the person, on what date, into which supervision or receiving custody, and which official record supports the statement.
